On March 22, 2023, the Head of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the King of the Netherlands Willem-Alexander and discussed with him the state and possibilities of strengthening mutually beneficial partnership, the positions of countries in solving global problems related to climate change, the melting of glaciers, the prevention and elimination of natural disasters, and other significant issues . This was reported to the online radio “Voice of the CIS” in the press service of the presidential administration.

During the meeting, the results of bilateral cooperation over thirty years of establishing diplomatic relations in the political sphere, various economic areas, including industrial, agro-industrial, investment, trade, tourism, cultural and humanitarian fields, as well as in new technologies and education, were considered.

It was noted that the transport industry, the development of “green” energy, the processing of natural resources, the organization of direct routes, the formation of a joint Intergovernmental Commission on economic, trade and scientific and technical cooperation are promising areas of the Tajik-Dutch partnership.

At the end of the meeting, the Tajik leader invited Willem-Alexander to pay an official visit to Tajikistan at any time convenient for him.

After negotiations in the presence of Rahmon and Willem-Alexander,  a Memorandum of Partnership was signed between the two states.
