Givi Mikanadze, the Head of the Georgia-Israel Parliamentary Friendship Group and the Georgian delegation on Saturday discussed the high-level cooperation and friendship between the countries with the representatives of the Israeli Government.
Within the Friendship Group’s official visit to Israel, the Georgian delegation held meetings with the ministers of Tourism, Agriculture, Defence and Foreign Affairs, Haim Katz, Avi Dichter, Yoav Galant and Eli Cohen, as well as with the leadership of the Israeli Agency for International Development Cooperation.

The growing dynamics of tourism and economic relations were also discussed, with the officials positively evaluating the start of the negotiations on the free trade agreement between the countries in 2024. The conversation also touched on the renewal of the bilateral economic commission, the Georgian Parliament press office said.
The Israeli Foreign Minister supported the initiative to hold a joint business forum, while the Tourism Minister focused on the increase in the number of weekly direct flights to Georgia’s capital Tbilisi and the Black Sea city of Batumi, especially highlighting the need of taking specific steps for the implementation of the tourism framework agreement signed this May.
