Chairman of the “United Serbian Party” Nenad Stevandic said that this party believes that the Republika Srpska should be created as a single entity that preserves its national unity, the Glas Srpske news agency reported on February 19.
“We believe that the economy is the key to the survival of people and the payment of wages, and that demography is the biggest problem of all societies in Southeast Europe, including the Republika Srpska, and these three things will be the holy trinity of the work of the “United Serbia” in the Republika Srpska. Strong national strategy, national unity, economic development and work on demographic issues ,” Stevandic said after a meeting of the General Board of the “United Serbia” in Banja Luka.
Stevandić said that today’s meeting is the last of this convocation and that intra-party elections have been announced, which will be held in May, when the chairman, deputies and members of the Main Board of the party will be elected.
He added that in the next three months, “United Serbia” will hold six permanent conferences – on local self-government and local economic development, on economics, on health, social policy and demography, on justice, security and defense, on science, education and culture, and a conference on European integration and foreign policy.
He pointed out that last year the Republika Srpska adopted the largest number of demographic norms and acts over the past 20 years, which, among other things, relate to large families and stimulation of childbearing.
