On March 23, as a result of an earthquake in Tajikistan, buildings and houses in six villages were damaged, Tengrinews.kz reports with reference to Asia-Plus .

The CoES of Tajikistan reported that residents of six villages of the Gorno-Mastchinsky district will be provided with food assistance.

This was said today, when a government working group headed by Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda made a trip to the disaster site, where buildings and houses were damaged as a result of the March 23 earthquake.

The Prime Minister stressed that the elimination of the consequences of the emergency is under the direct control of the head of state Emomali Rahmon.

It was decided that the families living in the affected houses would be evacuated to safety.

It was also said that building materials, flour, oil, rice, meat and other necessary supplies would be delivered to these residents as soon as possible.

According to the source, in the villages of Paldorak, Rog, Dehmanora, Pakshif, Langar and Dashti miyon of the Gorno-Mastchinsky district, auxiliary structures, which had no foundation, were mostly destroyed. In general, in these villages, due to the earthquake, residential buildings, roads and auxiliary structures were partially damaged, and no deaths were recorded.

The total amount of damage from a natural disaster is determined by the republican commission.

It should be noted that after the tremors on March 23 at 01.07 am another earthquake occurred in Tajikistan this morning at 07.53 local time, the magnitude of which was 4.8 points.

According to the Geophysical Service, the epicenter was located 6-7 kilometers from the village of Paldorak of the rural jamoat of Langar Mountain Mastchi. The fluctuation of the earth’s crust occurred at a depth of 40 kilometers with a force of 4 points, in the city of Dushanbe – 1-2 points and in the Rasht zone – 2 points.
